The Great Race…urrr No. The Same Race

In today’s modern media blitz it is easy to get wrapped up in the 24 hour news coverage.  Therefore here are two rules to keep in mind when watching, reading, or listening to the news.

Rule 1: News channels are not trying to educate or inform you, they are merely attempting to entertain you, so that you will watch their channel and therefore the advertisements.

Rule 2: Since news channels are businesses, the fact that they are attempting to profit is not bad or evil it is just a fact.

While these two rules seem fairly easy too understand many political pundits and journalists have yet to realise this and therefore take what they hear on the nightly news and run with it.  Eventually, if enough people say it is true.  It must be true.

All that leading up to an article written by a young politico who gets this idea and is taking writers to task for not doing their research, and attempting to pass this bad information as the truth.

Here is an excerpt:

These are the same issues that have faced American presidents since the founding of the country. They are not “more important and pertinent than ever before.” The economy is what started the colonists’ war of independence. War has been around since the beginning of time. Healthcare is older than industrialization, itself. And some of the first legislation passed in the United States was the Alien and Sedition Act.
