Guiliani Endorses McCain. Edwards Waits to Endorse Obama
Hey, this is good. I also feel like I missed the biggest political day in the last year for two meetings today.
First things first, Edwards drops out of race….suspends…..and waits to announce an endorsement. hmmmmmm. Obama. I am sure it is Obama, and I will definitely wager a quarter on that bet (a quarter is my standard bet). Now too look ahead- Who is Obama’s running mate? I think the young white guy is a good choice. I don’t believe that Americans have a problem electing an African American President. I also don’t believe that Americans would have a problem electing a women, but why not choose a white male as your running partner just to make sure.
The best part about an Obama Edwards ticket is that it might not get any further left than that…….Does that mean a Neo-neo-con movement?
Next Giuliani drops out! Even when I supported McCain (Yes, I know all of his issues-and believe that they are serious) at the beginning of this campaign I thought Giuliani would win the primary. He had a national name…..a good fundraising base….a New York attitude, and had battled the mob. He was ready for national politics. Guess not. I also supported the Florida approach, although, when I heard that Giuliani was counting on Florida I thought that he would at least put some effort into the states leading up to Florida. Guess not.
Onto his endorsement- McCain! Really I don’t think that this will give McCain as big of a bump as it should, but that was also the main reasoning behind announcing the endorsement quickly instead of trying for the double bump.
What will happen? I think McCain has good odds now, but in some of my meetings today, with people that are better at delegate math than myself, the feeling was that no decision would be made……even going into the convention. I don’t like it, but that would be interesting.
