A Headline Recession - RINO -
This recession is yet another creation of the media. A headline recession or what I am calling a Recession in Name Only.
Here are a couple of headlines:
WSJ: The Economy Slowed Sharply
The Dow Industrial Fell
Washington Post: Worried Fed Cuts Key Rate Again
These are just a few samples of healines from today’s papers. Of course, on the 24 hour news channels recession is being said more than 9/11 at a Giuliani rally or Lewinsky at a Hillary rally.
Admittedly, several key indicators point towards a *trend* towards a recession, but no indicator or measure says that we are in one (correct me if I am wrong). Additionally, calling the Fed ”worried” does nothing to consumer confidence, and I can’t picture Bernanke worrying anyway. He kind of reminds me of Ben Stein…..smart and dull.
Americans- the economy is what you feel it is. I will not tell you to go spend, because as a whole America needs to save, but unless you live in Michigan a state controlled by the Unions- the economy is generally good. It is just slower growing than it was–unemployment is about the same as it was most of the Clinton administration.
