Stop The Presses: Government Does Something

In an historic moment the government actually did something yesterday, of course it is slower than a slug, but hey- they did something.

Senate Ethics Committee Admonishes Craig for Conduct Related to June 11 Incident: Sen. Larry E. Craig brought discredit upon the Senate, the Ethics Committee said Wednesday in issuing a formal admonishment of the Idaho Republican.

The panel said Craig was out of line for his actions in a Minnesota airport restroom in June, his subsequent attempt to withdraw his guilty plea, and for his unapproved use of campaign funds to pay lawyers in Washington and Minneapolis.

This admonishment, read slap on the wrist, is only more than 7 or 8 months late, should not be a function of government, and has no real effect. This is merely an action to take action. They can’t vote on real things, because the House leadership is too busy setting up an agenda to actually govern, and with the legislation that they are trying to shove through…….I kind of hope they keep stalling.  They will eventually stall themselves out of time to pass any of their bad ideas.

However, there is always time to “Admonish” someone. Additionally, please don’t mistake my poking fun of this action regarding Senator Craig’s airport bathroom incident as support, it isn’t. In fact, I publicly admonished the action myself, I just did it the day after the event.
