The Political Bear

In another bad political move the Democrats left for recess without passing FISA bill. Yes the Democrats are of course spinning it-

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi maintains the congressional majority is simply trying to balance concerns about civil liberties against the government’s spy powers, and needs time to do it.

But one fact remains. This is a tool that this administration is using to fight terrorism. It has been effective and not passing a bill, could limit its use.

Furthermore, this is not a real controversial bill, 68 Senators voted for it, and if the Speaker would let it move to the floor a large majority would pass it in the House by a large margin. This is going to quickly turn into another Democratic land mine.
