Royals are Supposed to be Seen and Not Heard
While I enjoy toying with climate change scientists, who normally don’t understand what they are saying, I am always depressed and sad to hear from our elected officials in the United States that believe these same scientists, and view science to the contrary as responsible.
Then there are our neighbors across the pond. One of these days I will understand them, but to me they seem to economically enjoy shooting themselves in the foot. One saving factor to this self mutilation is that the Royal family usually stays above these day to day battles. On global warming, however, the opportunity was recently just to juicy for the prince to pass up.
Seriously? The only science they have are correlations. Statistically, if that is all that you had in a college class you would fail, but that has not seemed to matter with many groups this year or last year…..and what looks to be the next few years. For a quick statistics lesson you can have a correlation of variables such as carbon in the atmosphere and temperature, but that does not make it certain that one is causing the other. There are many statistical tests…..easy tests that can prove this causality. Any scientist does this, however, I have yet to talk to a climatologist that has ever done any of these tests. In fact, when I have asked them about the significance of the correlations they have looked at me with blank stares, turned red, and made pleas the audience.
I don’t really understand the climate. I do understand numbers, and therefore I am quick to point out bad science. I have yet to see good climate numbers, from scientists besides skeptics.
In this case the Royals should have been seen and not heard………..I wonder if that is part of their charter, or whatever rules they follow.
