Italy Abortion Protest: Pros? Cons?

This is a great article! Doctors in Italy are refusing to perform abortions. For the record, I am pro-life. I also like to say that I am pro-choice…….I don’t have any right to tell anybody to do with their body, so they can choose who and when they sleep with someone, but once a baby is involved (fertilization) that choice is no longer theirs. This view allows the 2% exception for rape and incest and danger to the mother which is what throws the whole argument into turmoil for me. However, as a male…….I won’t tell a rape victim that they can’t have an abortion…….I won’t tell an incest victim that they can’t have an abortion….and if it is dangerous to the parent—I haven’t heard all the arguments. I still think those abortions are murder, and even if the parent doesn’t want to take care of the baby or can’t that there are plenty of good homes that could be found for the little human.

Abortion was legalised in 1978 in Italy but pressure from the Vatican — which is strongly opposed to abortion — enabled doctors to claim a “conscientious objection” clause and refuse to carry out terminations.

Anyway, I think this article makes for a good discussion…………

Also, would doctors need to have a special exclusion under Hillary Care?
