Stop the Gas Tax!
There is currently talk about halting the Gas Tax for the Summer. Today the President mentioned his support for Senator McCain’s idea that he put forward a couple of weeks ago.
I think this is a great idea. I also believe that Congress and Democrats in particular-with the addition of Sen. Chuck Grassley– should send a letter to the American people and apologize for the farse that is their attack on oil companies. The government has made more money from gas taxes over the past quarter century than oil companies have made. However, since states mandate that the tax be included in the advertised price, not too many people understand just how much money the government is skimming off the top. Additionally, if stealth taxation wasn’t bad enough……… it is a regressive tax which I have talked about before.
